About the property

Luxury chalet with sweeping mountain views

Azalea Lodge is a contemporary luxury chalet in Nozawa Onsen, positioned just 50 metres from the slopes and next door to a health complex with gym, restaurant and multiple onsens. Offering something very close to a ski in, ski out experience, the property is well located for easy access to the village, onsens and the main gondola.

Fully renovated in 2025, Azalea combines edgy design features with luxurious appointments, from underfloor heating to rainfall showers, premium furniture and bedding and silk and wool rugs under foot. Thoughtfully curated interiors draw inspiration from nature, reflecting the palette of the surrounding Alpine lakes and forests during the changing seasons.

Enjoying panoramic views across the valley, the luxe chalet sleeps up to 8 guests and combines original exposed timber beams with walnut flooring, original oil paintings and contemporary mood lighting.  The lodge’s key living spaces feature pellet stoves and guests divide their time between the oversized dining kitchen and cosy lounge.

Described by guests as “a high-end ‘owner’s version’ chalet: top notch equipment, thoughtful details everywhere,” Azalea represents a sanctuary of tranquillity following a day spent on the mountain. With onsens, bars and restaurants nearby, Azalea combines comfort and convenience for a memorable snow holiday or restorative retreat.

As a premium property featuring bespoke furnishings, artwork, and amenities, Azalea Lodge welcomes guests aged 6 years and over.

Guest experiences

“The host was outstanding and made everything smooth. Stunning, impeccably maintained, and furnished with real care. We skied home every single day — clicking off our skis right at the door.”

“Stayed at Azalea Lodge in late Feb and honestly it was one of the best snow stays I’ve ever had. Modern, spacious and super comfortable, but still with that cosy alpine feel. The beds were proper Goldilocks beds. Couldn’t fault it.”

“There are many inns in Nagano and Nozawa. The most calming, beautiful and nostalgic. It was a great place to stay. I want to stay consecutive nights next time.”
