Seasonal and year-round roles in one of Japan’s most beloved mountain villages

A small team. A shared standard. A village worth being part of.

About Working Here

Hands-on work
in a place worth caring for

Nozawa Collection operates year-round in Nozawa Onsen, supported by a small team who live and work within the village. Our properties are places people return to, and maintaining that standard requires people who take genuine pride in the detail.

Winter is busy and structured, but it is also shared. The team works closely together — whether preparing chalets for arrival days, clearing snow in the early morning, or gathering for a simple meal at the end of the day.

Roles span winter and green season, with some positions longer-term. We value reliability and a willingness to contribute beyond a single job title.

“Even if there is no immediate vacancy, we are always open to hearing from people who feel aligned with how we work.”

Reliability

Our guests trust that every detail will be right. The team behind that trust shows up consistently, takes ownership, and follows through.

Attention to Details

A well-prepared chalet, clear arrival instructions, and the option of a complimentary grocery trip to Iiyama, whether we shop on your behalf from a list you provide or take you after arrival. The small things are never small to the people staying here.

Community

We live and work inside the village. That means being respectful neighbours, good team members, and people who genuinely enjoy where they are.

Arriving in Nozawa Onsen, I quickly knew I had made the right decision. Working with Nozawa Collection felt less like working for a business and more like being part of a family. I was trusted with real responsibility while still having the freedom to enjoy the mountain, the village, and the community around me. The season shaped my entire experience in Japan, and it is something I will always look back on fondly.

Working for Nozawa Collection was easily the best decision I made when planning my season in Japan. The team genuinely looks after staff like family, creating an environment where you can take pride in your work while still enjoying everything Nozawa has to offer. The flexibility of the role meant more time on the mountain than most seasonal jobs, and the village itself is an incredible place to spend a winter.
